Method (Makes 4 Pittas)

  1. In a bowl combine the chilli, garlic and oil. Add the cubed steak to the bowl, stir well to coat evenly then leave to marinade for 20 minutes.
  2. Skewer the meat with the mushrooms and drizzle over any of the remaining oil.
  3. Heat the grill to maximum temperature and grill for 4-6 minutes, depending on how you like your steak cooked.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat the satay sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer. Bubble, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
  5. Put the lettuce, meat and mushrooms into warmed pitas and pour on the satay sauce.

Tip: If you’re using wooden skewers, leave them to soak in water for an hour before using them so they don’t char on the grill.
